Crabgrass Comics By Tauhid Bondia That Focus On The Aventures Of Childhood Age

One such comic strip that chronicles the adventures of childhood was made in the twenty-first century by an American cartoonist, Tauhid Bondia who brought to life an amazing webcomic, crabgrass that captured the hearts of millions of people across the globe at its very first glance when it debuted on 5 April 2015 at gocomics.com and various other newspapers.

About Crabgrass :

Crabgrass chronicles the childhood adventures and experiences of two nine-year-old boys living on a street called Crabgrass Drive in an anonymous fictional town. 

The setting of Crabgrass :

Set in a fictional town, the webcomic debuted in a very old period about 1980 when no technology existed and there were no cellphones, mobile phones, internet, and such devices at that time.

Introducing AUTHOR ” TAUHID BONDIA”  :

Tauhid Bondia is a great cartoonist who was born and raised in Elizabethtown Kentucky, United States of America, and is currently residing in Hodgenville town with his wife and furry friends, among which 3 are feline and two are canine. He is one of those artists who are greatly interested in art since they were cute little kids and spent most of their time drawing sketches and reading comic strips. He decided to become an artist when he was a young child and pursued his studies in arts. 

Tauhid’s Journey to a most iconic and talented Cartoonist :

He produced his first comic in 1993 when he was in high school and named the comic strip ” High School Daze” which made its appearance in his high school newspaper.

After this, he created the comic strip ” A Problem Like Jamal” which made its inception on gocomics.com in 2018 and earned Tauhid huge fame and popularity.  Meanwhile, he also worked as a graphic artist, designing logos for hundreds of local companies and events. But just one year after this strip’s publication, he decided to put an end to the strip’s creation and laid to the creation of another strip, crabgrass that fulfilled his dream of becoming a syndicated cartoonist and made him an immensely popular syndicated cartoonist as the strip was accepted by Andrew McMeel syndication, one of the most prestigious and pronounced syndication.

Core Characters of crabgrass :

Crabgrass revolves around two main characters Miles and Kevin who are best friends. Drawing inspiration from his own childhood experiences with his friend, Tauhid based these two characters on his friend and himself.

  • kevin Beecham :

 Kevin is a white nine-year-old boy who belongs to a poor middle-class Beecham family and lives in a common bedroom with his older brother Kyle. 

He said, “If it was fun, it was probably worth it,” and lives by that principle. Calvin, the self-insert character, has similar interests to that of the author and spends most of his time exploring and reading comics, particularly about superheroes. in collaboration with his friend Miles, he also created his own comic strip and named it Captain Squirrel.

In the comic strip, he is depicted as a notable mentor who is widely recognized in his community for his mischief-making habits, and because of his habits, no one likes to make him his friend until he meets Miles who becomes his best buddy of Kevin. They both share a deep bond and embark on hilarious adventures, capturing the hearts of readers with their relatable antics and heartwarming relationships.

  • Miles :

Miles is the second main character after Kevin and is the only child in his family who, like Kevin, has no friends because he is not allowed by his parents to go out and make friends. Like Kevin, Miles also had a keen interest in comics and spent most of his time reading comics. Unlike Kevin who is known for his cynical and carefree attitude, Mile is a very careful and creative child who remains very thoughtful about what he does.

Kevin’s family includes his mother Janine Beecham,  father, Kurt Beach Man,  and three siblings, Krystal, Kyle, Kody, 

  • Carla Nicholas: 

She is a classmate of Kevin and Miles named Carla Nicholas who is greatly loved by Miles.

  • Maxine: 

She is a muscular, energetic tomboyish girl who studies in the same school as of Kevin and Miles’s. She is  the biggest rascal and bully of the school who is often caught bullying other students. 

  • Captain Squirrel: 

He is the hero of the comic strips that Kevin and Miles have created.

Success and popularity Of Crabgrass :

By creating such heartwarming and resonating comics, he has gained a dedicated following and recognition across various media, including the newspaper medium where he has earned millions of readers in a short period, websites where he receives thousands of views daily, and various social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. , etc. where his popularity knows no bounds and is rapidly increasing with each passing day.
